The background: Why we need a professional leadership body
The Government White Paper 'Trust, assurance and safety: the regulation of health professionals in the 21st Century' stated that pharmacy regulation should be separate from its professional leadership body (PLB), to bring it in line with other health professions.
Our aim is to create a separate pharmacy regulator and professional leadership body that are effective, sustainable and have the widest possible support among professionals, policy-makers and other key stakeholders.
The new leadership body will act as the voice of, be in touch with, and operate on behalf of its membership.
